What is “ImprovAstorming?”

ImprovAstorming is a Blank Stage term that simply means “improvisational brainstorming.”

Brainstorming sessions are frequently used by corporations of every size to quickly and effectively generate creative ideas across a broad range of subjects. Some of the ideas generated in a brainstorming session will be fantastic … some won’t. In time, even the less successful ideas that brainstorming creates may be fleshed out, revised, and improved upon. But that work is for another time … the brainstorming session is just the “genesis” of the creative thought process.

Improvisational acting, or “improv” as it’s commonly called, is a collaborative medium where several actors work together to create characters, scenes, or entire stories without the benefit of a previously produced script. In a nutshell, improv is like playing make-believe for grown-ups. The Blank Stage Improv Players are some of the best improvisational actors in the metro-Atlanta area.

The progressive thinkers here at Blank Stage Productions, never content to rest on our laurels, have combined the collaborative medium of improvisational acting with the creative fundamentals of a classic brainstorming session.

We christened this explosion of creative expression “ImprovAstorm.”
